humanizam
Briga za humano, za razliku od božanskog (ili rijeđe, životinjskog), i za čovječanstvo općenito više nego za određenu osobu. Točnije, termin označava način razmišljanja i praksu koja je bila dominantna tijekom 15. i 16. stoljeća u Europi posebno s obnavljanjem interesa za (pred- i nekrščanski)grčku i rimsku umjetnost i književnost. Humanizam pokušava reformulirati vjerske doktrine i prakse u duhu protestantske kritike rimske crkve.
